Nestled in the heart of Kaitaia is SUNSHINE 104.3 FM, a busy local radio station that serves the Far North of New Zealand and covers from north of Mangamuka to Cape Reinga, and across to Mangonui on the east coast. Sunshine FM have a friendly, professional and commercial approach to broadcasting. Since first going to air in February 1998, we have received great support from the local business community, local service clubs, emergency services and of course our listeners. The audience ranges in age from about 30 to 50 years or anyone who likes ‘Classic Hits from the 60’s to today’. Broadcasting goes 24 hours, Monday to Sunday, with News, sport and weather provided every hour on the hour. Sunshine also promotes Māori language and customs to the wider community, and this adds a significant cultural dynamic to our product. The advertising content has a community specific focus.
